You've Heard The Expression "Go Through The Roof"? For Us, It Was The Floor...

It all began a little like this... Ummmm, nope, I'm not kidding. 120 years of termite damage (old damaged combined with new activity) had finally taken it's toll and things were getting pretty bad... Want proof? There were WAY more holes, but I decided to spare you the ugly details... Everytime someone's heel or a chair leg would go through the floor (yes, it got to the point where I was truly afraid to sit on a chair in our family room -- I'd check the integrity of the floor under the chair before sitting down) I'd cover the gaping hole with... (YES, I do realize this is tacky....) a piece of tin that I'd cut with tin snips to fit and then nail down securely, hoping to flatten out any sharp edges so no one would slice their foot as they walked across the floor barefoot.
